a.v. max has been a pioneer in leading-edge fashion jewelry since 1998. The brand was born with a booth at a trade show, and immediately chic retailers throughout the world embraced us.

We are based in the heart of New York City's Garment center, where the energy and diversity of the city are a constant inspiration to us. Each piece is lovingly hand made by artisans in our airy loft studio and we are proud of the quality made in the USA product we create. It is also important to us that we support the remaining U.S. jewelry supply factories.

Amy Vennema is the designer behind the a.v. max brand. She was raised in Greenwich Village in the 60's and 70's, and now lives in Brooklyn, where she and her husband raised two daughters. In 1998 she left her career as an accessory buyer to begin a.v. max.

Being a native New Yorker plays an important role in Amy's esthetic. Fashion is a vital piece of N.Y.C., and a.v. max designs reflect what this city means to her: our jewelry is always new, exciting and beautiful. Her education in Fine Art is also reflected in her work: she uniquely combines special semi-precious finds with an eye for color and balance.
