Summer Shoe Inspo
Posted on 02 May 2016
It's Mayday, the sun is shining (although it's still freezing), holidays are on the horizon and the toes are pedicured and ready for sunny days. The perfect time for a shoe closet edit! For me that means discovering shoes I'd forgotten I owned and building my summer shoe wishlist! So if you are looking for some summer shoe inspo read on...
The go to wedge
Wedges really are the perfect summer shoe. They really do go from desk to dinner to vacation! And they give that much needed height with comfort. These Carolina wedges from Gucci also tick the go- with- anything neutral box. Well, to me gold really is a neutral! And who could resist that classic Gucci horse bit detailing.
The summer boot
Ankle boots are a year round staple for me given the weather in this part of the world and these Margot boots from Rag and Bone are perfect. The leather is so buttery soft you can get away with wearing these barefoot. And the colour is perfect for summer. I'm loving these...
The extravagant sandal
So my love affair with all things Valentino and Rockstud isn't shifting, it might actually be getting worse! I am loving all things Valentino these days and these sandals are no exception. If I was lucky enough to get these in my collection they would be my summer go to shoes so the cost per wear would make them almost free:-)
The statement maker
I don't know about you but I plan my outfits from the shoes up! And these beauties are the shoes that make the outfit! The perfect pop of colour for any neutral summer look, I'd wear these with skinny white jeans and a little bit of attitude!
The runaround flat
I'm not a fan of the ballet flat typically but I found myself with very sore feet in London recently and I picked these up at J Crew out of total necessity! I never thought I'd say I love a flat shoe but these are pretty great. The tapered toe makes them a little edgier than a typical ballet flat and the leather is buttery soft. These basics are now a staple in my work / travel bag so I no longer need to run in heels!
